ReelModels is my brainchild and current pet project. The concept is very simple, which is to allow all types of Models (beauty, runway, video, promotional etc.) to create a simple digital comp card and portfolio. Over time, I would like this to become an eco-system for everyone else in the industry to connect ie. Photographers, Stylists, Agents, Designers etc. I really want to keep it as simple as possible while providing basic social media features and fluid functionality.

I actually had the concept for this project in 2006 and called it district12, but I had other things that kept me busy, like work. I ended up not getting past the build stage and just used the name for my personal blog at the time. Fast forward to 2010, here I am at it again...I felt like this is something I could still do better. So I figured why not give it a try and see where this goes. I call it a pet project because I have a full time job and this is on the side for now. RM is designed, developed and funded by me. With help and support of the good people around me, I continue to build on it and maybe something will come out of it.

RM is by no means just for full-time models. In fact, the underlying thought that triggered this idea is that, many models out there do this as a part time gig. Most of these models might not want to be tied to agencies/contracts and would like a simple digital profile that can be used at any time. Futhermore, I often see many ad postings (newspapers, Craigslist, forums) hiring models for events, photoshoots, ads etc...and though there are many website offerings out there, I felt it could be done better. Here, you can complile a simple functional profile, share/link-to your profile, choose gigs as needed, market yourself, pick your rates, respond to only offers you want...you take the control. What I'm hoping to do with RM is offer that integration point.

ReelModels.com is still in private beta i.e. invitation only. The main focus of the first phase of this project is models and a comp card layout. I welcome any models interested to be part of the testing, and you may join by requesting an invite on the homepage.
